Qualifications/ Requirements

Key Performance Areas
Manage the
financial, administrative and
information system requirements necessary
for the co-ordination
and control of Municipal Infrastructure Grant Funded
projects and programmes
Implements and
executes procedures necessary for the budgeting, monitoring and reporting of
financial performance with respect to the Implementation cycle
of Expanded Public
Works Projects and Programmes
Manages developmental
and project management
processes associated with the scoping, resourcing, implementation,
monitoring and communication phases of infrastructure projects
Addresses the
need for social
responsibility programmes and capacity
building objectives to
support poverty alleviation
and unemployment through the
provision of recommendations with respect to the alignment and
implementation of structured building contracts and procurement policies
Assess and
reports on the
applicability and appropriateness of specific
departmental key performance
indicators and measures detailed in
Sector plans and
Municipality’s Master Plan
against national
methodologies, approaches and
legislation outlining the implementation of the Expanded Public
Works Programme
Present the
Business Unit’s Strategic
Plan to the
National Department of Provincial
and Local Government
to facilitate the efficient
management and administration of the Municipal
Infrastructure Grant
Disseminates functional
and operational information
on the immediate, short
and long term
objectives and current developments, problems
and constraints applicable
to the Unit,
to all stakeholders including
Council and the
relevant Government departments

Preparing and
overseeing preparation of
geometric layouts in
accordance with existing street configuration and available land to
maximise operational efficiency, e.g. safety, turning circle, curves and
traffic flow, and ensuring that survey findings are taken into account in new
designs
Plans and designs
the upgrading of existing public transport facilities and /or new transport
facilities
Liaise with
Transport Operators pertaining
to transport facility
planning; operational issues and
compliance with the
National Land Transport Transition Act (2000) and attends
Community meetings as and when required
Compiles reports
and/or liaison with Taxi Registrar and KZN Public Transport Licensing Board
Evaluates
conditions and designs of road markings schemes

The successful candidate will report to the Fleet Manager:
