BSc Degree/ B
Tech Degree in
(Quantity Surveying and
Project Management/ Civil
Engineering
3 years relevant
post qualification experience
Code B(08) Driver’s
license
Key Performance Areas
Planning the
supervision of construction
sites with emphasis
on safety matters,
and ensuring that
sub-contractors comply with standards
of building performance, quality and cost schedules
Planning the
supply of labour
and material, interpreting
plans and estimating costs and quantities of material
needed
Presenting a
conceptual framework of
current and future interventions
necessary to achieve
acceptable cost- effective building construction standards
Identifying
professional/ technical and non-technical skill gap within the
Branch and completes
developmental plans for
existing personnel
Analysing trends,
operating requirements and
forward plans to establish/ determine
funding/ expenditure for
the period and/
or assessing the
accuracy of project
estimations/ costing referring
to specifications and/ or
specific technical requirements
Examining relevant
documentation (building contracts)
including project brief, design
parameters and technical documentation with a view to determining applicability to defined
outcomes
Revalidating and
compiling project budgets
in line with
identified scope and all
appraised issues
Confirming and
verifying information provided
in the elemental estimate against the concept drawings and
preparing a brief on the design and
specification, approval procedures,
contractual documentation, execution
of the works,
commissioning and final completion-
resolve technical conflicts
Develop and
implement quality control programs
Conducting
valuation of schedules and preparing Bills of Quantities for Building Projects
Participating in
various meetings (council,
internal /and external forums)
and provides comments/
opinions on matters
affecting or concerning the functionality of the Unit
Responding, through
the collection of
factual information and/
or conducting the necessary
investigation/ research, to enquiries and concerns
on service delivery
from the general
public, councillors, government departments, developers, etc.
Collaborating with
external departments/ agencies
(architects, consultations,
suppliers, contractors) on complex issues associated with
Project applications and
principles with a
view to aligning internal processes
